THREE people were saved by a lifeboat crew after the engine on a boat had failed.
Troon RNLI responded to the incident between Troon and Lady Isle on Monday, June 8.
At around 2pm the Beflast Coastguard alerted them to the casualty vessel.
The crew launched their Trent class all-weather lifeboat RNLIB 'Jim Moffat' and D Class inshore lifeboat 'Sheena' which made their way out to the people stranded.
A tow was used to haul the boat back to Troon marina where it was met by Ayr Coastguard Rescue Team.
The lifeboats returned back to the station where they were made 'ready for service' with the assistance of the shore crew.
