HORSE stables and a private riding arena could be built in Beith after plans were submitted.
An application to change of use of agricultural land at Washingstone, Beith to form a riding arena, including access works, boundary enclosures and the erection of stables for three horses was validated this week.
The stables will provide accommodation for horses owned by the applicant, riding arena shall be for sole use and for the purpose of exercising the horses.
Planning documents state: “The stables and arena have been sited close to the existing site boundary and access so as to reduce its impact on the open character of the field.
“This presents the least obtrusive location within the whole of the application, and does not harm or intrude upon any existing views.
“Manure will be stored on the hard standing to the North West side of the stables to ensure no pollution will be caused to the ground conditions. The manure will be removed on a regular basis and disposed of in an appropriate manner.
“The closes residential dwellings is approximately 300 yards away from the site therefore this reduces the likely hood of nuisance caused.”
