A MAN who faces robbery and gun charges after police raided a home in Ardrossan has been held in custody.
William Black, 31, appeared from custody after his arrest at an address at McDowall Avenue just before 3pm on Monday, June 29 in connection with alleged robberies.
Black, whose address was listed as North Ayrshire faced a charge of assault and robbery, two charges of possession of firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and a charge of theft, when he appeared in private in Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday [June 30].
He also faced the ancient Scottish charge of Hamesucken and robbery which is understood to have involved alleged forced entry to a property with added menace.
Black entered no plea to the allegations and was committed for further examination.
He was remanded in custody and will return to the same court at a later date.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 2.50pm [Monday, June 29], officers acting under warrant, entered a property in McDowall Avenue, Ardrossan.
“The 31-year old man has been arrested and charged in connection with two robberies.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
