Here is a round-up of some of the recent arrests and charges made by police in East Ayrshire.

  • A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged in relation to an assault reported at Aird Avenue, Auchinleck about 10.30pm on July 18.
  • Police stopped a vehicle near Auchinleck Rd, Cumnock at about 2.05pm on July 17 - the 22-year-old man driving was allegedly found to have no valid insurance and to be in possession of class A and B drugs. His vehicle was also seized.
  • Two men, age 16 and 40, have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for alleged possession of offensive weapons following reports of a disturbance near to Central Avenue, Kilmarnock about 1am on July 18.
  • A 31-year-old Kilmarnock man was arrested and charged in connection with culpable and reckless conduct after throwing a brick at a police vehicle in Knockinlaw Road, Kilmarnock about 12.10am hours on July 18.
  • A 38-year-old Saltcoats man was arrested and charged by police in connection for driving a vehicle while unfit through alcohol after he failed the roadside breath test at about 12.47am hours on July 19 on the B7081 near Crosshouse.
