COPS have issued a warning to dangerous drivers who have been speeding near a spot popular with hillwalkers.
The force said they expect people to be visiting Tinto hill over the weekend because of the good weather.
But have warned drivers using the A73 road in the area to stick to the temporary speed limit of 30mph.
The force said there will be an increased police presence to ensure safety.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “The weather forecast looks promising this weekend and that means one thing, getting out and about.
“Hill climbing is a wonderful way to get outdoors and exercise.
“However, Police Scotland have received reports of dangerous driving and speeding at the A73, Thankerton as well inconsiderate parking at access roads near to Tinto Hill.
“The temporary speed limit of 30mph on the signposted section of the A73 is currently mandatory and legally enforceable.
“The area is particularly busy on weekends and during periods of warm weather.
“You can expect to see an increased police presence to ensure safety and access in maintained. Please consider other attractions this weekend.”
