A protest was held outside a sex offender's home in the Three Towns after the man was previously caught trying to text youngsters in a widely-shared Facebook sting.
Crowds turned up in Churchill Drive, Ardrossan last night [Tuesday, September 1] after sex offender Barry Tidswell, 39, was placed under supervision for two years and three months and ordered to recieve treatment.
We previously reported how Tidswell was caught out by paedophile hunters and broadcast on social media outside Irvine's Rivergate mall last year after sending indecent messages to what he thought were girls ages 12-14.
Police confirmed they attended after the crowd began to gather in the street at around 7.50pm with officers confirming they spoke with attendees.
The crowd later dispersed at 9.30pm with no other action required by police.
