Council enforcement officers are on the hunt after a disgusting mess was left dumped in the heart of Kilwinning.
A selection of household items were left in the grassy area of Pollock Crescent at the weekend to the disgust of residents in the town.
And Kilwinning Labour councillor Donald Reid has since appealed for any information to help identify the culprits be sent to Streetscene’s enforcement team so the council can secure a prosecution.
Cllr Reid said: “Someone has decided this is the place to make a mass tip with garden clear outs, old kitchens, carpets and general flytipping.
“While the council has a little information on who might be dumping here, we would like to secure a little more to allow this to proceed to charging and pursue prosecution.
“You can phone 310000 and speak to the environmental enforcement team or pm myself and I will forward your details onto them.
“This is right in the heart of the housing and access is well seen and overlooked so I am confident the dumpers are known and identifiable.”
The councillor added: “The issue of the identifiers back to the households where the waste originated is also being investigated.
“Only by acting can we stop these flytippers blighting our community and putting the surrounding houses at risk through fire raising.”
North Ayrshire Council encourage anyone who witness any incidents across the area to get in touch
The spokesperson previously said: “Fly-tipping is a crime which we take very seriously and we are determined to reduce the impact this has on communities across North Ayrshire.
“We would urge anyone with information on instances of fly-tipping to please get in touch and we will investigate thoroughly.
“To report environmental crimes such as fly-tipping, littering and dog fouling, contact the team on 01294 310 000.”
