Residents of a Glasgow flat have been issued a fire warning since the building has the same cladding as Grenfell Tower.

The external walls at Lancefield Quay by the Clyde are clad in Aluminium Composite Material (ACM), the Daily Record reports.

An inquiry into the Grenfell Tower fire which killed 72 people revealed that cladding was the "primary cause" of the fire spread.

A nearby Clydeside development caught fire least December forcing the evacuation of 2000 residents in the area.

The building has since moved into the second stage of reconstruction and is expected to be repaired by next autumn.

Glasgow Times:

A report commissioned by James Gibb, the Lancefield Quay factors, classed 22 points as "intolerable risks" to people living in the flats.

A survey by fire risk assessment specialists Michael A Fox Associates showed that work needed to be done to make the external walls, balconies and structural panels safe.

For the time being, residents have been banned from using candles, patio heaters, barbecues and storing gas tanks on balconies.
