An explorer of abandoned buildings has shared photographs from inside a derelict schoolhouse in Ardrossan.
Abandoned Places and Ruins in Scotland are a small group of four ‘urban explorers’ who go all over Scotland visiting deserted buildings and documenting their finds.
Last year they ventured to North Ayrshire and came to Seafield House on Eglinton Road.
The photos they took show the decrepit and creepy inside of the once great mansion.
A collage on a classroom wall reads 'represent yourself', while an adandoned bicycle lies on the debris covered floor.
The site was formerly owned by the council who then sold it to Quarrier’s, who in turn sold it to D McLaughlin and Sons builders at a cost of nearly £900,000.
On another wall the words 'blank walls equals blank minds' has been painted with the black paint swirling out from the letters.
It has fallen into disrepair after years of neglect following a fire in 2017 that left much of the building burned out.
D McLaughlin and Sons have secured and re-secured the site multiple times over the years as people continue to attempt to gain entry to the property.
Residents have suggested different plans to ‘save’ Seafield House, with the planning service previously looking into the possible compulsory purchase and resale to a third party of the building.
