A HARDY band of volunteers recently took to the harbourside at Saltcoats to help get rid of some rubbish
The beach clean was completed near to Saltcoats Harbour on behalf of the Marine Conservation Society.
The Great British Beach Clean saw many events round the country clearing and counting rubbish from the beach.
One of the best ways to clear litter from the ocean is to pick it from the beach when it gets washed up.
Four volunteers took three hours to fill eight bags, and also removed a mattress, a tent and a wheel. Well done to the volunteers.
