AS he battles heart disease, William Ferguson Young has told his family he has ‘one dying wish’ – to be reunited with his long-lost sister from Glasgow.

William’s granddaughter Shareen is hoping our readers can help.

“My grandfather moved to Canada with his wife and two children in 1967 and his last contact with his sister Janette was around 20 years later, in 1987,” explained Shareen. “He is 85 and has heart disease – he has just had open heart surgery. Can anyone help us to find his sister? This is his dying wish.”

William, who is now 85, was brought up in Calton and lived on Market Street. He attended John Street Senior Secondary School.

In 1967, he moved to Canada with his wife Annette, and their two daughters, Linda and Elaine.

Shareen believes Janette would be around 75 and she a son and a daughter, Robert and Jan Callendar.

“I would love to be able to help my grandfather,” she adds. “We are very close, as he and my gran raised me.”
