A man was taken to hospital with an injury to his face after a fight with a group of men in Ardrossan.

Police were called to a report of an 'altercation' on Glasgow Street at around 3.25pm on Tuesday, October 6.

Emergency services attended to a 36-year-old man who was then taken to Crosshouse Hospital where he was treated for a facial injury.

He was later released from hospital.

Officers continue to investigate to determine the nature of the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.25pm on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, police were called to a report of a man being injured during an altercation with a group of men in Glasgow Street, Ardrossan.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 2025 of Tuesday, October 6, 2020."
