THE Ayrshire Hospice is inviting the community to support their local hospice this Christmas by participating in their Light up a Life concert.

Due to the current restrictions surrounding COVID-19, Ayrshire Hospice are unable to have their usual Christmas Concert. However, this year they will celebrate with a memorable evening of online music and entertainment.

Jennifer Allan, of Ardrossan, has shared how much Ayrshire Hospice helped her terminally ill sister, Karen. Karen was cared for in the hospice in 2016, at the age of 42, after being diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer.

Donations to the hospice allowed Karen to enjoy the remainder of her life by staff bringing her pet horse to see her one last time.

Jennifer said: “I can’t thank the hospice enough for all they did for Karen.

“Their kindness and compassion continues to amaze me every day. I can never repay them but I try to contribute what I can through fundraising and raising awareness of the wonderful work that they do.

“Not only does this help me to say thank you, but it is also my coping mechanism. I want to do all I can to make sure that the hospice continues to be there to help other families who need their care and support in the future.

“That’s why we are supporting their Light up a Life appeal this year and I hope you’ll join us and support this wonderful, vital local charity.”

The virtual concert will take place on Sunday, November 29. To make a donation or to buy a ticket, visit the Hospice website.
