AN IRVINE sex offender admitted stealing drink while on bail and threatening and abusive behaviour in the town centre.

William Falconer, 35, pled guilty to theft and causing fear and alarm in Irvine High Street when his case was back before Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week [January 7].

We reported last year how Falconer, now of Princes Street, Ardrossan sent indecent messages and pornographic links to what he thought was a 13-year-old girl back in March 2019.

He was placed under supervision and made to sign the sex offenders register for three years.

Falconer’s solicitor last week said his client admitted shouting, swearing and uttering offensive remarks in Irvine High Street on August 27, 2019 while repeatedly pressing a buzzer before kicking the door.

Falconer also admitted to stealing alcohol from Aldi in Saltcoats on October 12, 2019 with both offences committed while on bail granted on April 30, 2019.

A not guilty plea to a third charge was accepted by prosecutors.

Falconer was fined £240 in total with a victim surcharge of £20.
