Bin collections in North Ayrshire were disrupted yesterday (January 13) due to adverse weather.

Residents in Beith and Irvine were among those affected with their bins uncollected with refuse collectors unable to reach all areas due to heavy rain and slippery conditions.

However, the council confirmed that crews will return today (January 14) to empty uncollected bins in the affected areas provided weather conditions improve.

Streets affected in Irvine include Ardbeg Court, Dalwhinne Court and Coleburn Court where purple bins were due to be collected.

In Beith, grey bins in Cedar Avenue, Elder Avenue, Acacia Drive, Myrte Bank, Park Avenue, Mid Road, Elms Place, Kerr Hardie, Laburnum Avenue, Barberry Drive and Denholm Way were uncollected.

Highfield to Glengarnock Road and from The Den to Barkip were also impacted due to the weather conditions.

Residents who have yet to have their bin emptied should leave them out for crews to collect.
