A driver has been charged for careless driving after a road traffic accident on the A737 in Beith this morning.
The road between Clerksbridge Toll and Manrahead roundabout was closed off for just over an hour after a two-car collision.
No injuries were reported but police charged one of the drivers under the Road Traffic Act.
The road is now open again in both directions.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We can confirm we received a call at 9.11am this morning regarding a two-car collision on the A737 at Beith.
“The road was closed at 9.25am and reopened at 10.14am.
“No injuries were sustained.
“However, one of the drivers involved was charged under the Road Traffic Act Section 3 for careless driving.”
