A five-month-old kitten that went missing in Kilwinning has been found safe and well after a five-day search.
The cat called Piper had been missing since Sunday night after she got frightened by the wind and rain in the Whitehirst Park area of the town.
However, after a five-day search owner Richard Kay found Piper safe and well around 3pm today (January 22).
He said: “I was walking past a lane about five streets from my home and pressing a clicking toy and then I heard a meow and there she was behind a 7ft fence and I could see her collar so knew it was her straight away.
“She is skinnier than before and is exhausted.
“She won’t leave me alone since she has come back. The overriding emotion I feel just now is relief. we are delighted she is back and she is currently sleeping on my lap.
“We have to say a massive thanks to those who shared our post online and those that went out looking for her. The response has been incredible and helped us find her. My gratitude is eternal.”
