ScotRail have announced that as a result of the ongoing lockdown there will be an alteration to services with a reduced number of trains running across the network.

They are reducing the amount of trains running to 65 per cent of pre-pandemic levels, but aim to provide 72 per cent of the available seats.

The changes to the timetable are set to begin on Monday, February 1.

Below is a list of the trains affected in your area.

South Ayrshire

In South Ayrshire this means that the last trains from Ayr to Glasgow will now depart at 7.45pm and 9.45pm. The last trains going in the opposite direction will leave Glasgow at 9.30pm and 10.30pm.

There will be a half-hourly daytime service in operation on this route.

There are also many changes to the Ayr-Kilmarnock-Girvan-Stranraer line: 

0621 Ayr to Girvan cancelled

0653 Girvan to Kilmarnock starts from Ayr at 0722

0700 Stranraer to Glasgow now deparrts 0705

1809 Glasgow to Stranraer terminates Ayr at 1926

1902 Girvan to Ayr now departs 1910

1903 Stranraer to Kilmarnock now starts from Ayr at 2031

2108 Kilmarnock to Girvan now terminates Ayr at 2130

2203 Girvan to Ayr cancelled

North Ayrshire

In North Ayrshire, on the Glasgow Central to Ardrossan/Largs line, there will be no alteration to the number of trains running throughout the day, but the last trains are earlier. The last train from Ardrossan to Glasgow leaves at 8.31pm, the last train from Largs to Glasgow will leave at 7.54pm.

Coming back the other way, the last train leaving Glasgow for Ardrossan Harbour will be 7.15pm and for Largs 7.45pm.

East Ayrshire

The Glasgow Central to Kilmarnock, Dumfries and Carlisle line will be affected in East Ayrshire. No changes will occur to the timetable throughout the day except the last trains are earlier. They are:

1757 Carlisle to Glasgow (1835 from Dumfries)

1920 Carlisle to Dumfries

2027 Kilmarnock to Glasgow

1611 Glasgow to Carlisle

1913 Glasgow to Dumfries

1933 Glasgow to Kilmarnock
