The A78 has reopened after it was closed due to severe flooding.
The road was shut by police this morning after heavy rain throughout the night created treacherous driving conditions leading to motorists getting stranded.
Police Scotland confirmed that they received a call at 06:41am today (28/01/21) with four vehicles stuck.
Amey who maintain the Scottish south-west trunk road network deployed a tanker, gully unit and rapid response pumps to deal with the issue.
After almost six-hours the road reopened at 12.15pm this afternoon.
#A78 @ Seamill flooding is now clear. Operators and all equipment being moved from carriageway and diversion uplifted. Road is now fully open. Thanks for your patience today. #teamwork @trafficscotland pic.twitter.com/2rDH988FN2
