A NEW project aiming to help people take the right steps into personal and professional goals is being run in Saltcoats.

The Ayrshire Community Trust, TACT, offers a free service to people who want to build their confidence, improve their employability skills through short courses.

And the committed team at TACT has been working to help people throughout the lockdown with a number of courses being run online.

TACT’s Personal Development Sessions, STEPS to Excellence, helps people build their confidence.

The sessions have been condensed into two hours online during the pandemic where the team covers ways to deal with negative ideas and feelings; looks at strengths and weakness; looks at goal setting and comfort zones.

TACT also runs STEPS to Excellence where you can focus on learning a brand-new skill or enjoy some personal development.

You can learn cooking on a budget a four-week workshop where you can learn to make healthy family meals on a low budget.

You can take part in a life coaching session on the phone or online with a professional who will help you work through your goals and plans for the future.

STEPS for Excellence encourages people to get outside for health walks and get involved in the community garden project but these are on hold until North Ayrshire moves into Tier 3 and 2.

They also run a free practical bookkeeping course on Tuesday, February 2 for voluntary groups to learn basic skills.

TACT is also supporting other groups by naming Organisation of the Month. This month they praised the work of Active Kindness who meet at the Vernon Street HQ.

This group of volunteers randomly leave messages around the area with positive quotes and at Christmas time delivered parcels to isolated residents.

They also delivered sunflower seeds to families throughout North Ayrshire during lockdown to encourage children to stay positive.
