A 47-year-old man has been rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries' after he was assaulted in a Dalry shop this morning.
The incident is believed to have taken place in the Key Store on Sharon Street.
Emergency services raced to the scene with the 47-year-old man being taken to hospital for treatment.
Police confirmed that they had arrested a 28-year-old in connection with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 11am on Friday, February 5, 2021, following the report of an assault at a shop on Sharon Street, Dalry.
"Emergency services attended and a 47-year-old man has been taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
"A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing."
