The Saltcoats branch of the Bank of Scotland has reopened after it was forced to temporarily close its doors due to building damage.

The building suffered damage to its ceiling after heavy rain last week and was shut for five days with customers being directed to the nearest branch in Irvine High Street.

There were fears among locals that the branch might not reopen given that several other banks had moved out of the Three Towns in recent years.

However, after repairs were carried out the branch reopened to customers on Monday morning (February 8).
