RANSOM notes demanding sausage rolls in exchange for the return of the mystery bear who captured the hearts of the Three Towns have been left at premises in Ardrossan.

The six feet teddy became a hit with residents after he first appeared on bench in Glasgow Street before moving to Saltcoats on Friday.

But the bear, affectionately called Rainbow The Three Toons Bear by a Facebook group set up in his name, has gone missing.

Appeals were made via the group asking for the person who took him to return him.

But this morning, things took a dark turn for Rainbow as ransom notes were found pinned to the doors of Cali Stores in Saltcoats, benches in Saltcoats, South Beach Stores in Ardrossan and the office of the Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald.

Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald:

The note demanded two Gregg's sausage rolls to be delivered to a bench in Glebe Park at 11am.

In a threatening end to their note, the kidnapper writes, 'If you want to see Rainbow again bring me 2 Greggs sausage rools the to the 2nd green bench at Glebe Park tomorrow or else."

Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald:

There was also a picture of Mr Bean with his teddy attached to the ransom note.

We appeal to the kidnapper to bring Rainbow home to Ardrossan unharmed.
