A THREE Towns man awaits sentence for failing to remain in his house with suspected coronavirus.

Paul Wallace, 29, admitted to breaching coronavirus regulations as well as a charge of stealing and resisting arrest during an incident in Stevenston last year.

The Glebe Place, Saltcoats resident Wallace pled guilty to stealing a quantity of goods from the Ayrshire Warehouse store in Townhead Street, Stevenston on May 28 last year.

Court papers state Wallace then struggled violently with a female police officer in an attempt to resist arrest on the same date in New Street.

He pled guilty to a third charge of failing to remain in his home address whilst believing he had coronavirus – in breach of Scotland’s health protection restrictions.

A not guilty plea to a fourth charge was accepted by the Procurator Fiscal.

Wallace will return to court for sentencing at a later date.
