Police have issued an urgent appeal to the public in an effort to trace a 38-year-old man missing from the Ardrossan area.

Joshua Robert Holland - known as Robert - was last seen walking in Glasgow Street, Ardrossan about 1pm on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

Friends and family have not seen or heard from him since and concerns are now growing for his wellbeing.

He is described as 5' 6'' in height, average build with short dark hair. He was last seen wearing a black hooded top, black jacket, dark coloured trousers and a grey woollen hat.

Extensive enquiries are ongoing.

Robert frequents the Saltcoats and Ardrossan area however was also in Irvine the day prior to his last sighting.

Inspector Alison Wilson said: "It is quite out of character for Robert not be in touch with his family and friends for this period of time. They are becoming increasingly concerned for him. Robert does have some vulnerabilities and so we are very keen to know he is safe"
