Three people were arrested last Sunday night for breaching coronavirus regulations after reports of a house party in Ardrossan.
Police were called to a property on Chapelhill Mount at 10.44pm on Sunday, March 7, and arrested two females and a male under Section 38 of the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010.
The individuals were also arrested for obstructing police officers.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed the news to the Herald and said: "Three people, a 31-year-old Ardrossan man, 38-year-old Kilwinning woman, and a 16-year-old Irvine woman have been arrested for S.38 offences and obstructing officers after police attended reports of a party at a property on Chapelhill Mount, Ardrossan at 10.44pm on March 7. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal for consideration of prosecution."
It was the second incident that police had made arrests in Ardrossan for a breach of coronavirus regulations over the weekend of March 6 and 7 with two teenagers being arrested the day before.
Police officers also issued 27 fixed penalty notices in North Ayrshire over the weekend of March 6 and 7 - the most issued in one weekend since the pandemic started.
