RAINBOW, the giant teddy who won the hearts and imagination of the Three Towns community has been spotted in Saltcoats.

For weeks a giant teddy brought smiles and joy to residents of Ardrossan and Saltcoats.

Rainbow, as he became affectionately known, was first seen in Glasgow Street, Ardrossan.

As speculation as to who owned him and why he had been left in the street grew, more and more people took to social media to share their pictures with the teddy bear.

He was snapped outside Park Church in Stanley Road then outside the shops in Saltcoat's Hamilton Street, spreading cheer around the towns.

But six weeks ago, the six foot bear went missing and despite pleas from members of a Facebook page set up in his honour, Rainbow had appeared to vanish.

He was last seen slumped on the stairs outside the Metro nightclub.

Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald:

But on Monday night Rainbow returned to the small boat outside Cali Stores in Saltcoats.

A little grubby but as passers-by stopped to look at him, some even cheered and waved as they posed for selfies with the giant bear.
