A sex offender stung sending indecent messages to what he thought was a girl aged 13 failed to appear in court this week.

William Falconer, 35, whose address was recently listed as Princes Street, Ardrossan, was caught sending indecent messages and pornographic links to what he thought was a 13-year-old girl in Irvine’s Clark Drive between March 21 and March 28 last year.

He was placed under supervision with no unpaid work and ordered to register as a sex offender for three years when he appeared for sentencing last year [November 17,2020].

He was due to appear for a Community Payback Order review hearing this week [Monday, April 19] however court officials confirmed to the Times the offender failed to appear with a warrant issued for his arrest.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Times today [Wednesday, April 21] that enquiries are currently ongoing to trace the offender.
