ALDI supermarket caretaker Norman McGowan was the VIP guest at a leaving do bash in his honour.
The former postie is well known in the area having served as postman for more than 40 years before deciding retirement was not for him and joining the team at the Saltcoats store.
Now, after 14 years, this hardworking caretaker who is always smiling, enjoyed being the centre of attention as the staff threw a party to say farewell – even baking him an Aldi cake to tuck into.
Store manager Paul Hamilton said: “We are happy that Norman will have time to himself but we will miss him in the shop, he was a great caretaker and always went above and beyond.”
