An individual who was at the centre of a missing person search in Ardrossan last week has been traced 'safe and well', police have confirmed.
There was a heavy police presence and a helicopter circling the top end of the town on the evening of Thursday, May 13, alongside vans and cars which were also spotted in the Lawson Drive, Chapelhill Mount, Burns Terrace and Nithsdale Road areas.
Police Scotland confirmed at the time that the incident was connected to the search for a missing person but have since given an update, saying the missing person 'was subsequently traced safe and well.'
