There is nothing better than a bank holiday weekend - a chance to kick back, relax and enjoy an extra day off with family and friends.

And it seems those of us in the Three Towns are in for an extra special treat as a mini heatwave is on its way, with weather that will make you want to dust off the barbecue, pull out the paddling pool and get sporting the sun hat.

According to the Met Office, the glorious sunshine will arrive on Sunday (May 30) and won't disappear until later in the week, with highs of around 17 degrees and only a slight break in the clouds around 1pm, with Monday following a similar pattern.

Wednesday, June 2 even promises highs of 20 degrees.

Met Office's outlook for Sunday to Tuesday says: "A fine dry and warm spell of weather with some sunny periods. Winds will be light."

UV levels are expected to be high or very high so remember to lather on the suncream.
