THE team at Ardrossan Community Sports Hub hosted a family fun day on Saturday and a great time was had by all.

The fun day was to celebrate the Sports Hub opening on Monday morning.

Fun was the order of the day as families enjoyed a tour of the gym inside and a host of fun stalls and giant bouncy castles for the youngsters to enjoy.

The trustees were on hand along with a team of volunteers to show everyone who visited what facilities the Hub had to offer them.

Gym manager David Thompson and fitness coach Blair Docherty showed new members around the impressive Hub which offers a gym, classes and running sessions for members.

Outside there were cones for everyone as families played tennis table, a super slide, pool and a double bouncy castle too.

It was all smiles for the visitors especially the youngsters who had a ball playing on the super slide and tucking into cones.

Trustee Scott Mould said: “The community is at the heart of the Hub and we have all been working hard for a long time to make this happen.

“It was great to see so many people come out and meet the team and enjoy the bouncy castle and slide.”

North Ayrshire Council leader Joe Cullinane cycled to the open day and was impressed.

“The Trustees have worked hard to get this Hub ready and it is a great thing for the communities here in Ardrossan and the Three Towns.”
