A section of Stanley Road in Ardrossan is currently closed due to the ongoing repair of a broken sewer pipe.

The road was closed yesterday in order to carry out the repairs however Scottish Water has given no specific timescale as to how long this will take and when the road is to re-open.

Road users are advised to seek an alternative route.

A Scottish Water spokesperson said: “Contractors for Scottish Water are working to repair a wastewater pipe (sewer) in Stanley Road, Ardrossan. A short stretch of the road was closed yesterday to enable the work to be carried out. We have liaised with North Ayrshire Council about the road closure.

“The road will be re-opened as soon as the pipe has been repaired and the road reinstated. We apologise for the inconvenience to road users and thank them for their patience and understanding.”
