Police investigating the disappearance of Jamie Cannon in Saltcoats have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses to come forward four weeks from when he was last seen.

The Saltcoats teen remains missing after vanishing last month.

Jamie was last seen, on Thursday, May 20, 2021, on Kinnier Road around 10 am, and has not been seen or heard from since.

Police, who say his disappearance is "very out of character," have now issued another appeal for witnesses to help trace the 19-year-old.

Jamie is described as being 6ft 1ins tall, with short dark hair.

He was last seen wearing grey jogging bottoms, grey trainers, a blue jacket, and was carrying a camouflage backpack.

Inspector Alison Wilson of Saltcoats Police Office said: “We would like to thank the public for the tremendous support they have given so far. It is obvious from the response we have had that there is great concern in the community for Jamie’s well-being.”

"As our search continues, we ask that if you were in Saltcoats at the time Jamie went missing and you think you might know something that would be of interest to our enquiry, please tell us. It is possible you have a piece of information that could help progress our enquiries. Please call us and let us decide what information may or may not be of value.

“Jamie is described as being 6ft 1in tall, with short dark hair. When he was last seen he was wearing grey jogging bottoms, grey trainers, a blue jacket, and was carrying a camouflage backpack.

“If you are reading this appeal Jamie, please make contact with police or your family and friends to let them know you are safe and well, everyone remains greatly concerned and anxious about you."
