A section of the A77 in Girvan will be closed this Sunday to repair a defective manhole cover.
Dalrymple Street - which is the main high street in Girvan - will be closed between Deacon's Place and Wesley Road, on Sunday, June 20 to allow essential roadworks to go ahead.
Contractors working on behalf of national digital network business Openreach will be undertaking the work.
A Southbound diversion will be in place as follows:
- Commence at A77 Stumpy Corner
- Turn right onto Knockcushan Street
- Turn left onto A77 Henrietta Street
- Continue onto Kirkpatrick Street
- Continue onto Benanne Road
- End at Shalloch Park Roundabout
An Openreach spokesperson said: “We’re sorry for any disruption caused by these essential roadworks, where a one-day closure due to the location of the chamber is the only safe option. We’d advise drivers to plan ahead and leave some extra time for their journey - and thank them for their understanding.”
