Anticipation is building amongst fans over tonight's Euro2020 meeting of football's oldest rivals. But what happens when you and your partner support different teams?

In case you've been under a rock, Scotland kick-off against England at 8pm tonight at Wembley and the mood is heating up like the weather on the Ayrshire coast.

It is both teams' second game in the international sporting competition and here in Saltcoats one couple is putting their geographical differences aside to get their customers in the mood for tonight's big game.

Mike Buttle, originally from Yorkshire, has lived in Scotland for 17 years and is an England fan - his wife, Amanda, from Glasgow, is a Scotland fan.

The couple has owned the B&B cafe for eight years, since moving to the coast in 2013.

The cafe has been decked out in Scotland flags, with staff wearing "Yes Sir I Can Boogie" t-shirts, driver "John the Jock" delivering takeaways in his kilt - whilst Mike has his own "It's coming home!" t-shirt so he doesn't feel left out.

He said: "The staff is all wearing t-shirts saying 'B&B support Scotland, except the big yin' and mine says the 'big yin'.

"We try to keep it as much fun as we can in the cafe, we are a busy place and the staff work really hard, whenever there is something big we try to keep it as fun as we can.

"Especially when my wife and I support different teams, I'm English and she's Scottish, I thought we'd bring that into it.

"We've got both flags up, we've got a lot of regular customers, and they are all pure Scottish as they come, in the nicest possible way.

"We have a lot of customers who give me a lot of banter because I'm English but it is all in good spirits."

The couple is finishing up early today to get ready to watch the big game at home whilst the B&B cafe is open until 9pm for sit-in and takeaway, whatever the result.
