SATURDAY saw the launch of Scotland’s first emergency services cycling club.
Setting off from South Crescent Road in Ardrossan, the Bluelight Cycling Club saw members of Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Services, Scottish Ambulance Services, NHS, Mountain Rescue, HM Coastguard and the Armed Force take part in a fun cycle around the Three Towns.
Faroque Hussain, Chief Superintendent, Local Police Commander, said: “My colleagues in Ayrshire work tirelessly to protect our communities with some incidents bearing a heavy toll on them. I am an advocate of physical and mental wellbeing and the resilience it offers to us in our ability to be balanced both physically and mentally.
“I am confident that the blue light Cycle Club embodies these core values and shared beliefs, and I wish them my sincere best wishes and good fortune on their future journeys.”
