YOUNG people in the Three Towns can enjoy a host of free events happening during the school holidays.

North Ayrshire Council’s youth workers and community workers have been busy planning sessions for youngsters aged 12 to 25 next month.

From fashion workshops to games days, barbecues, dance sessions, arts and crafts, a mobile climbing wall, breakfast clubs and silent discos, there is something for everyone.

And creative kids can enjoy a lesson in sand art at Saltcoats Beach as part of the festival.

The sessions will take place at from week one of the school holidays.

Working with Active Schools and KA Leisure the North Ayrshire Connected Communities is focusing on giving young people in the area a choice of activities that will keep them active and help them learn new skills too.

The North Ayrshire Council Mobile Youth Centre will also be back out on the road offering activities around the towns during the holidays.

It has just undergone a revamp and facelift ready to take to the road again this summer. And the young people will also be transforming into roving reporters who will be sharing videos and updates of the festivals and events throughout July and August.

This year’s events will also include a fun day for youngsters with assisted learning needs.

Donna Anderson, Youth Participation and Democracy Officer for North Ayrshire Council said: “We have worked hard with other agencies to come up with a summer series of events for the young people in North Ayrshire.

“There will be a lot to do and we hope that as many young people as possible sign up to get involved in their own area’s activities.”

Anyone who wants to enjoy a busy summer can sign up via North Ayrshire Youth Services.
