A young woman was arrested after armed police were spotted in Kilbirnie.
The 24-year-old was arrested following disorder at the Moorpark Hotel, Kilbirnie in the early hours of Tuesday morning [July 6] after a witness told the Herald three police vehicles were spotted including an armed response unit.
Police Scotland confirmed a woman has since been arrested and charged following the disturbance.
A spokesperson said: “At around 1am on Tuesday, July 6, officers received a report of a disturbance and concern for a woman at a residential property in the School Road area of Kilbirnie.
"A 24-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident."
She is to appear in court this week.
