KILWINNING’S Elizabeth Wilson, nee Gordon, was presented with the British Empire Medal by HM Lord- Lieutenant of Ayrshire and Arran, Sheriff Iona McDonald OBE last Sunday.
Mrs Wilson was recently recognised in the Honours List for her lifelong service to the Girl Guides. She has been involved with the Girl Guides for over 40 years at all levels and has shown outstanding dedication to the Girl Guide movement.
Mrs Wilson said: “I feel so honoured to receive a British Empire Medal for something that I have loved doing for around 46 years.
“The girls are all so special to me. I love seeing a wee shy 10 year old when she first starts, to the mature young ladies they turn out to be.
“Girl guiding will always be in my heart.”
