CalMac has entered the second day of cancellations on the Ardrossan to Brodick route after a member of the crew tested positive for the Covid-19 yesterday [Monday, August 9].

CalMac cancelled sailings on one of its ferries to the Isle of Arran after a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus. 

The following sailings today [August 10] on the MV Caledonian Isles are cancelled: Depart Ardrossan- 0700, 0945, 1230. Depart Brodick- 0820, 1105, 1355.

The service will be reviewed at 2pm today.

The ferry company was forced to turn away passengers and run a reduced operation after a member of the ferry crew tested positive for the virus. 

All sailings on the MV Caledonian Isles were cancelled yesterday.

The ferry is currently being deep cleaned as close contacts are identified. 

The MV Isle of Arran is still operating but sailings have been reduced significantly. 

A spokesperson for CalMac said: "A crew member has tested positive for Covid, and MV Caledonian Isles sailings have been cancelled at the moment as a result.

"Close contacts are being identified and the vessel is being deep cleaned. MV Isle of Arran is still operating."
