A POP up gallery which used to run in the former RBS building in West Kilbride is set to open in Saltcoats - and aspiring artists are being called upon to showcase their work.

Gallery Sometimes is expanding the idea to include the Three Towns and is currently working with TACT, Saltstreets, Saltgardeners and others to bring the pop up gallery to the area.

Ian Roberts at the Gallery is reaching out to artists, especially those who don’t consider themselves ‘proper’ artists but just lack a showcase for their work. He is also on the hunt for a venue in the town to host the creatives.

He said: “I don’t have a venue in West Kilbride anymore but I’ve always liked the idea that we could do it in any other town if we could find a venue so I’m on the lookout for that now.

“We’re hoping to get artists from the Three Towns involved, we’ve had some get in touch through Facebook already, the more the merrier. It’s great to have shows where we showcase local talent.

“If anyone has property on High Street or Dockhead Street or anywhere central and would be prepared to have the pop up gallery, then that would be brilliant. I’m hoping this will be something that becomes a tradition.” For more, email gallerysometimeswk@gmail.com.
