Troon assistant manager Dean Keenan applauded the Seasiders’ forwards as they smashed in 13 goals against Mid-Annandale in the South Challenge Cup.
A double from Ryan Stevenson, a hat trick from Ryan Nisbet, two goals from Ben Black, two from Sam Jamieson, a goal from Declan Macaulay, one goal from Tommy Maitland, one from Sam McCloskey and a late strike from Dominic Lavelle saw the seasiders progress into the second round.
Speaking to the Advertiser, Keenan said: “I think it might have been the club’s highest ever win, so it was very pleasing. The front four that we had at the weekend were fantastic, they all popped up with a couple of goals.
“Some of the younger players came on for their debut as well, Macaulay was one of them, he came off the bench, scored and set up a goal.”
Next up after their historic win is a trip to Benburb for a return to league action, with Keenan keen to get one over the Bens.
Keenan said: “We feel as if we owe Benburb one, they have came down to us twice and drawn
“They knocked us out of the Scottish Junior Cup as well, so we want the win.”
