Troon assistant manager Dean Keenan says he was delighted to be back to winning ways as they beat Hurlford United 1-0 at the weekend.

The Seasiders went into the Premier Division clash looking to avenge the prior weekend’s 5-1 away loss to Benburb. They did just that with Ryan Nisbet’s first half goal the difference at Portland Park.

Speaking to the Advertiser, Keenan said: “I was delighted for Nisbet.

“He has been training hard to get back in team then took his chance.

“It was a real team performance though and we looked more like ourselves.

“Overall, I was pleased with clean sheet and it was a fantastic response after conceding five at Benburb.”

Next up for Troon is a midweek fixture in more league action up against Cumnock Juniors on Wednesday night.

Keenan says he is looking forward to the added midweek fixture as they look to push up the table.

The assistant manager added: “We are looking forward to a busy week, a week where we know we had to start putting more points on the board.

“So, obviously pleased with how it has started.”
