VINNIE and Joyce Fitzsimmons will celebrate 50 years of married life this weekend.
On October 2 the couple who are from Ardrossan and now live in Saltcoats, will enjoy a small celebration with their four daughters and grandchildren to mark the occasion of their Golden Wedding.
Joyce, who retired from ICI to bring up her children and Vinnie, who worked at the ferry terminal in Ardrossan for many years, fell for each other straight away and have enjoyed a marriage of friendship and love ever since.
And Vinnie’s father was the last Provost of Ardrossan, Jackie Fitzsimmons, a piece of Ayrshire history that the family is extremely proud of.
