A THREE Towns man who hit his girlfriend and annoyed his neighbour with loud music was warned to be of good behaviour or land back in prison.

James Callaghan, 24, appeared from custody for assaulting his partner after having attacked a man while on bail.

Callaghan, previously of Arthur Street, Stevenston and now Princes Street Hostel, Ardrossan, was abusive to a neighbour after playing loud music while living in Lawfield Avenue, West Kilbride this year.

The Procurator Fiscal said: “He played extremely loud music and the accused was joining in by singing and banging. As a result, the complainer asked him to turn it down, then he basically told the complainer to ‘f*** off. He shouted “I’m only listening to my tunes, f*** you. Want to go ahead?’

“The court heard Callaghan and a woman formed a relationship in around March and were residing together at his address in Wellpark Road, Saltcoats, before the assault on May 24.

The sentence was deferred for two months, with the bail granted. and the sheriff added: “If you further offend you will be sent to prison.”
