Ardeer Thistle manager Sean Kenney says his side need to stop the slip ups as they lost 3-2 to Greenock Juniors at the weekend.

Greenock took a 2-0 lead early on in the first period of the Conference B clash at Ardeer Stadium.

Ryan Wilson then grabbed a goal back for the hosts to see them trail by just the one goal at the break.

However, in the second half, the Nock regained their two goal lead before Wilson grabbed his second as a late consolation.

Speaking to the Herald, Kenney said: “I think at the weekend we gave away poor goals again and that is the most disappointing thing as we are not getting cut open.

“There are a few mistakes creeping in and we have spoke about it, we need to cut the individual errors out.”

Next up for Thistle is a difficult West of Scotland Football League Cup tie away to Premier Division outfit Troon, with Kenney saying there is no pressure on his side.

He said: “We go to Portland Park with no pressure, it is the underdogs Ardeer up against the favourites in Troon.

“It is a game we are excited for, the players want to test themselves against top sides and it is free hit for us.”
