The Scottish SPCA are seeking a home for a three-legged saluki who has been a long term resident of their Ayrshire and South West Scotland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

This spooky season, Scotland’s animal welfare charity is hoping to ‘treat’ Billy the dog to his forever home, after being at the society for more than three months.

Marion Hainey, Scottish SPCA centre manager, said: “He only has three legs, but this never holds him back. He is a gentle giant and loves to play and run around.

“Although Billy has lived with other dogs previously, he would not be able to be rehomed with another dog and he will also need to be muzzled while out on walks due to his sighthound instinct.

“To help with his balance, Billy will need a raised feeder for his food and water bowls.

“He would absolutely love a big garden to have some freedom in, and would be best suited to an adult only home.”
