A weekend of road closures have been planned for the A78 around West Kilbride this November.

The work will be carried out between Portencross Road and Drummiling Road with a diversion route in operation from November 12-15.

Traffic travelling on the A78 Northbound will leave the A78 at Chapel Hill Roundabout and will then take the third exit to Dalry Road B780, Traffic will then continue on B780 through Dalry until the B784 Junction.

Here, traffic will turn left onto B784, turn left again onto A760 Largs Road and re-join the A78 at Haylie Brae.

Diverted traffic travelling along the A78 Southbound will take this route in reverse.

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are undertaking his scheme, with a value of £200,000, and will benefit around 7,775 vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.

Access to both Fairlie and Seamill / West Kilbride on the A78 will be maintained up to the works area with through traffic between Portencross Rd to Crosshill Brae available following the first evening Access for emergency services will be maintained throughout.
