A fire took hold of a public toilets in Saltcoats today [November 15].
Around 10.40am this morning, emergency services were alerted to reports of a blaze at the toilets situated within Melbourne Park.
It is not yet known if anyone has been injured as a result of the incident.
The road is closed and diversions are in place.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers are currently in attendance at Melbourne Road in Saltcoats after reports of a fire.
"The road is currently closed and diversions are in place."
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.40am on Monday, November 15, to reports of a fire within a building in Melbourne Road, Saltcoats.
“Operations control immediately mobilised three fire engines and firefighters are extinguishing the fire."
